You may not realize it but you or your child may suffer from ptosis – a condition also known as droopy eyelids. Drooping eyelids can occur at any age and are often inherited. However, the condition can also develop with age as gravity sets in over time.
The condition may result from excess skin and tissue on the upper eyelids but can also affect the levator muscles that lift your eyelid and keep them wide open. The most common treatment for ptosis is surgery. Surgery to correct ptosis can be performed in under an hour in our office.
Dr. Thom will tighten your levator muscles, which will lift your eyelids and improve your vision if your droopy lid was previously blocking your vision.
