And although technology has enhanced our society in a variety of different ways, it also comes with a few downfalls: including your vision. Whether you spend your day scrolling through Instagram, watching PBS Kids, or working on a desktop, make sure that you are giving your eyes a decent break. Read on to learn more.

Staring at a screen for a long amount of time can place a strain on your eyes— leaving you with temporarily blurred vision and headaches. By giving your eyes a break a few times every hour, you can help to alleviate this strain and ensure that your eyes are staying as healthy as possible.

How Can They Get a Break?

You don’t have to go on a walk outside or head out in your car to give your eyes a break— although those would be fun ideas. In fact, all you have to do is just look away from the device for about 30 seconds and focus on something off in the distance. Try to do this exercise a few times an hour— you will notice a difference!

Is Technology Bad for Your Eyes?

As mentioned above, technology has done a variety of great things for our society. However, if you spend too much time staring at a screen, it will negatively impact your eyes. Now, this doesn’t mean that you need to hide your iPhone, tablet, or computer— it just means that you should limit the amount of time a day that you spend staring at a screen.
